every question is a good one.
you don’t know the machines yet: here are the answers to the questions we hear most. missing one? write to us at ciao@crushbodystudio.com.
what exactly is an infrared studio?
a studio with machines that combine gentle exercise (cycling, walking, massage) with infrared light. infrared increases the energy you use and gets your circulation going, without the effort feeling any harder.
will I sweat?
yes, a lot. but in complete privacy, in your own cabin, and a private shower is waiting for you afterwards.
am I just losing water?
good question, and the right instinct. the water you lose through sweat, you get back by drinking. that’s why we never measure the same evening. what we measure: your centimetres, on day 0 and day 30, while the vacuum and infrared work on your circulation session after session.
is it a slimming treatment?
not in the sense of a miracle promise. Crushbody isn’t a slimming salon: it’s exercise in a cabin. infrared heat and vacuum increase the calories you burn while you move, and “le roll” provides machine drainage for heavy legs and water retention. if you lose centimetres, we measure them at day 30, together with your diet and how regularly you come. and it isn’t medical lymphatic drainage: after surgery, your doctor or therapist decides.
is it covered by health insurance?
no. Crushbody sessions are not covered by basic insurance or by supplementary insurance, but we’re working on it: we’ll let you know if that changes.
how many sessions before I see results?
most people feel the first effects (energy, lighter legs, firmer skin) from the 2nd or 3rd session. for visible changes to your silhouette, allow 8 to 12 sessions over 4 to 6 weeks.
how often should I come?
ideally 2 to 3 sessions a week, then depending on your goals. we build your rhythm with you at your first session, and adjust it along the way.
does it replace regular exercise?
yes and no, depending on you. if you already exercise, Crushbody speeds up your progress and improves your recovery. if you don’t, Crushbody lets you get results without suddenly launching into an intense routine. it can become your workout.
are there any contraindications?
yes, as with any physical activity. before your first session, you fill in a health form: nobody steps into a machine without it. sessions on “le bike”, “le run” and “le roll” are not recommended in case of:
- pregnancy
- varicose veins, phlebitis, circulatory insufficiency
- blood clotting disorders, atherosclerosis
- high blood pressure, coronary heart disease
- pacemaker
- epilepsy
- recent surgery
- tumours, infectious disease
- degenerative disease, multiple sclerosis, after-effects of a stroke
- alcohol or substance dependence
if in doubt, talk to your doctor before booking. and if a contraindication comes up along the way, your place is kept: come back when your doctor gives you the go-ahead.
I’m worried about the heat, or I’m claustrophobic.
the cabins are air-conditioned at face level and you can open them at any time. someone is always there. you can start with 20 minutes on “le roll”, which has no closed cabin, to ease in gently.
what should I bring?
clean trainers worn only indoors, your sportswear, a towel and your water bottle (remember to drink well before your session too). changing room and shower are available: shower gel and a hairdryer are provided, bring anything else you need.
can I cancel or reschedule my session?
yes, free of charge up to 24 hours before. late cancellations and no-shows are deducted from your pack or membership.
are packs and memberships transferable?
packs are personal, but you can give 1 session from your 10-session pack and 2 sessions from your 20-session pack to someone close to you. memberships are personal and their sessions are not transferable.
is it for men too?
of course. Crushbody isn’t women-only: the machines are for everyone and the cabins are private. gentlemen, you’re very welcome.
one last question? come and try.
trial session: CHF 30, 30 minutes, the machine of your choice.
